Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive (LIMA): How does “Least” and “Minimally” fit into behavior modification?
This is the second webinar of Mara Velez’s 2-part series. During this 90-minute session you will learn about the Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive (LIMA) ethical principle and explore several case studies that illustrate the use of LIMA to address problem behaviors, including severe fear and inter-dog aggression. During this session we will discuss training and behavior modification practices that do, and do not, adhere to LIMA principles. By the end of this session, you’ll be able to assess what is truly least intrusive, and have ideas of how to incorporate some specific practices to increase choice for the animals that you work with.
These webinars are suitable for veterinary professionals, animal trainers, animal behaviorists, shelter and rescue staff and volunteers, and anyone with an interest in evidence-based behavior intervention.
