Brianna Loeffler

Veterinary Technician
Every small step forward is a giant leap towards a happier, healthier bond with your beloved pet. Stay hopeful, stay patient, and together, we'll navigate through these challenges.

Born and raised in the heart of Central New Jersey, Brianna’s lifelong fascination with animals propelled her to pursue an education in Animal Science from Rutgers University, focusing on Pre-Veterinary Medicine and Research. Currently, she is on the cusp of completing her certification from CATCH Canine Training Academy; enhancing her expertise in the dynamic field of veterinary care.

Brianna’s journey began under the mentorship of Wendy Rodriguez, DVM, at the Visiting Holistic Veterinary Care of NJ, where she delved into the realms of eastern/herbal medicine, acupuncture, and laser therapy. This experience was particularly profound as it introduced her to hospice care, shaping her compassionate approach towards animal wellness.

In 2014, she founded PawZen Pet Care, recognizing a niche for pet sitting services tailored to special needs patients. This venture gradually evolved to include behavioral cases, leading to the inception of Curious Canines in 2020. Her path also intertwined with the Hunterdon Hills Animal Hospital, where she had the honor of shadowing Dr. Charles Westfield and Dr. Chester Paluchoski, enriching her understanding of veterinary care from conventional and integrative perspectives. Progressing through various roles, she eventually became the Practice Manager which allowed her to forge deep connections within the veterinary community and beyond.

Brianna’s commitment to animal health extends to research, where she has been actively involved in addressing breed-specific genetic issues. This includes advocating for responsible health testing and contributing to medical research, most notably on the epidemic of NAD in Miniature American Shepherds.

Brianna is committed to giving back to her community and has volunteered with local rescues, organized fundraisers, as well as being a proud member of both the MASCUSA and MASCMA.

In her free time, Brianna embraces the challenge of restoring an early 1800s timber farm, now home to a menagerie including a miniature Juliana pig named Pretzel, a duck, and a flock of chickens. She is also an avid dog trainer, engaging in Rally-O with her dogs, and exploring creative grooming. Her family of pets includes Maizie, Duke, and Stevie (Miniature American Shepherds), Louie (a Standard Poodle), and MewMew, a Persian cat with a quirky penchant for sock theft.

Already a member of the APDT, Brianna is looking forward to earning her CPDT-KA certification. Her professional interests lie in behavioral and reproductive medicine, reflecting her commitment to enhancing the well-being of animals and their human companions alike.
