Michele Monteiro
Behavior Consultant
My goal is to create training programs that are empathetic, effective, and enjoyable for both ends of the leash. Together, we'll create a learning program that will reduce stress and increase joy for you and your best friend!
Michele is from West Chester, New York, where she graduated from Quinnipiac University with a B.A. in Public Relations and a minor in Sociology. She is a graduate of the CATCH Canine Academy (2018) and came to Behavior Vets after spending months of intensive learning with behavior consultants and veterinarians in our practicum program (2023). When Michele is not coaching clients at Behavior Vets, she supports pet owners at her other businesses, Paws Fur Love, LLC and Backyard Bones in Carmel, New York.
Michele speaks both Portuguese and Spanish and uses these skills to support a more diverse population of the dog owning community.
Not only does Michele support pets and their families during her work hours, she loves giving back to the pet owning community through volunteering. Michele has organized, hosted, and participated in many adoption events at various locations in the Carmel area. She offers free training and socialization groups to adopters from the Happy Life Rescue Organization.
Each holiday season, her facility organizes a donation drive to provide local animal welfare organizations with food, toys, and other necessities. Michele’s previous corporate career instilled in her a love of event planning, and she hopes in the future to help plan large scale fundraising events for the industry to raise both funds and awareness for animals in need and those who care for them.
Michele has a lifelong love of traveling and visits her family in Portugal whenever possible. In her downtime, she enjoys listening to true crime podcasts and documentaries.
